Borough Council's DPD consultation starts today

13 Jul 2012

A public consultation entitled Development Management Policies Development Plan Document. Consultation begins today. Surely they could have given it a better title! Until they do, we're calling it "Plan D" for short.

It is an important planning document which will largely replace the existing District Plan. It will include the general-purpose planning policies needed to guide applicants and form the basis for determining future planning applications.

Plan D will include policies covering a diverse range of topics such as managing new development in the Green Belt, mitigating the adverse impacts of climate change, achieving good design in new development, controlling building heights, conserving heritage assets and managing new retail and employment uses.

The Consultation document is available on the council's website epsom-ewell.gov.uk and a link from their home page should be available soon. Meanwhile it can be accessed by clicking here. It is also available to view at the Town Hall and the borough's Libraries.

You can comment on-line or via a letter to Planning Policy, Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, Town Hall, The Parade, Epsom KT18 5BY. Comments must be received by 5.00pm on Friday 7th September.
