Dundee LibDems welcome news on climate change
The borough council has produced a Climate Change Action Plan

The borough council has issued a press release on its new Climate Change Action Plan and the document can be found on the council's website www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk.

Lib Dem councillors were pleased to see an Action Plan but even the council officer who drafted the document acknowledged that it was not as comprehensive as it might have been.

Cllr Julie Morris, leader of the Lib Dem opposition, said "We supported the Climate Change Action Plan because of the limited resources available to achieve anything more than the basics, but we did feel it was somewhat lacking. There was originally no mention whatsoever as to how councillors and residents themselves would be informed and properly involved in addressing climate change issues - this is one of the key drivers in the associated 10:10 campaign which the council has signed up to. Perhaps it's more a case of the ruling RA group feeling obliged to have a strategy, rather than their being any political will at its heart."
