Cutting EU Immigration
EU immigration to Britain is too high.
The best way to reduce immigration to the UK from Europe is to tackle the situations that encourage people to come here.
Richer members, like the UK, contribute more to EU funds to help develop the countries that still suffer the effects of past dictatorships. Improving job prospects in poorer countries, through EU support, makes jobs miles away in the UK seem less attractive.
This is also a good long-term investment for the UK. Growing prosperity elsewhere in the EU is good for UK businesses, which is good for jobs and living standards in Britain too.
