Epsom’s popular new Local Enterprise Market
A new Local Enterprise Market was launched in the Market Place in Epsom High Street on 30 October. Local traders, businesses and entrepreneurs advertised their wares alongside artists, photographers and other talented local residents with craft skills to display or hobbies they are willing to share.
Lib Dem Cllr Julie Morris, who suggested the idea of additional local markets to the council earlier this year, went along to see how it went and provided this short video. Despite some rather miserable weather she was favourably impressed, particularly by the variety of pitches. "A jolly good initiative" was her verdict.

Further markets will be held from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm in Epsom Market Place on the last Sunday of every month (with the exception of December due to the Christmas break). The Council will provide a trading space along with a supportive environment to start a new venture in a community setting.
There will be no charge for pitch rental until April 2012, after which a nominal charge will be levied. Prospective traders must be local residents or business rate payers, able to provide a stall suitable for trading and have valid public liability insurance.
