"Fearless Investigator" Norman Baker MP to speak in Epsom

5 Oct 2009

Plans have been announced for Norman Baker MP to speak at a public meeting in Epsom on Tuesday 3 November. The meeting will be held at the Phoenix Club in Depot Road. The Doors will be open at 7.30pm.

Mr Baker is the Lib Dem MP for Lewes and has established a reputation as one of the most dogged and persistent parliamentary interrogators the modern House of Commons has known.

Norman Baker has been described as "Outstandingly honest" by the Daily Mail, which also asked "Is this the greatest man in Politics?". The Independent has called him a "fearless investigator" whilst the Guardian has written of "the tireless MP for Lewes, who sometimes seems to undervalue his usefulness as a troublemaker."

Best known for preventing MPs from exempting themselves from Freedom of Information, thereby bringing to light the MPs' Expenses Scandal, Norman has also recently obtained better pay for ordinary soldiers and in the past not only opposed the Iraq war but investigated and wrote a book about "The Strange Death of David Kelly", published in 2007.
