High turn out for Stoneleigh Protest
A hundred or so residents turned out for the protest against the closure of the public toilets at Stoneleigh Railway Station.
The meeting was addressed by Stoneleigh & Auriol Residents Association chairman, Bill Slaughter, who vowed to carry on fighting to save the public facility. He gave a stark warning to RA councillors that they must listen to local residents because the Association pays their election expenses.
Public loos at Upper High Street and in Ewell village are also scheduled for closure in the next couple of weeks as part of a round of council cuts.
