Housing Consultation Extended
Liberal Democrats councillors, in receipt of complaints about poor publicity, have arranged for the Housing Consultation to be extended again. This consultation affects everyone. Do take the time to respond. Comments will now be accepted by the borough council until the end of December.
The Housing Land Supply Strategy document is still available on the council's website www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk (and information should go back onto the front page of the council's website this weekend, hopefully) but the "consultation portal" will be closed on 26th November. There's a short summary which presents information in a concise manner and the fuller version should you wish to read it. Any responses can be made by emailing kjakubczyk@epsom-ewell.gov.uk, simply saying which Option you prefer. You can send an email or letter to Mr Karol Jakubczyk at the Town Hall until 31st December, stating which option you support. Options are as follows :
OPTION 1
Build all future homes in the existing urban area.
OPTION 2
Build the majority of future homes in the existing urban area but provide some of these homes on public open space and/or Green Belt land. This would mean approximately 70%-90% of new homes being built within the existing urban area and the rest on land released from the Green Belt and/or open space use.
OPTION 3
Build a large number of new homes we need on a planned urban extension. This would mean approximately 40%-60% of new homes will still be built in the urban area but that the remainder will be built on land released from the Green Belt.
