Local Councillors need Answers on Hospital Cluster Developments

13 Dec 2006

Your local Lib Dem councillors have asked questions at a meeting of the council on 12th December. They want answers on the future of Livingstone Park, Clarendon Park, Manor Park and the Horton area.

Issues raised include the lack of buses, lack of attention to the needs of small and older children, anti-social behaviour, parking problems and the lack of adoption of roads and land. The absence of shopping facilities also features high on a list of issues on which councillors want action.

County Cllr Colin Taylor and Cllrs Nigel Pavey and Jonathan Lees want to know what the council is doing to meet the needs of residents now living on these former hospital sites. They've been dealing with enquiries and grumbles from residents on a regular basis, trying to solve problems, but feel that the council as a whole needs to address the issues and deliver. Cllr Jonathan Lees commented "There's only so much progress individual councillors can make - it needs the whole council to be behind solving the problems in these areas."

The formal reply to the questions that were put before the meeting are available from Cllr Nigel Pavey and they will be publicised in the next issue of our FOCUS newsletter.
