New Recycling Station for Longmead?
Rosebery Housing Association is to be asked if they can provide space for a recycling station in Teddington Close.
Cllr David Buxton (Court) came up with the idea because his ward has a poor record for recycling (when compared with other wards in the borough) and increasing the number of static recycling stations will encourage people to recycle. At a meeting of the Strategy & Resources Committee on 24th June, it was agreed to sell a piece of land to Rosebery Housing Association to facilitate access to land they already own. The Chairman of the Committee promised to talk to the relevant people in the hope that a small area can be set aside for more bins.
Liberal Democrats are committed to recycling and improving the borough's record. The forthcoming edition of Borough Insight will contain a questionnaire about new refuse collection and recycling services which will start sometime in 2009.
