Recycling Aerosol Cans

2 Feb 2010

According to a Tesco survey, most people don't bother to recycle aerosol cans but Epsom & Ewell Borough Council takes them away with your cans and bottles.

Fully discharged aerosol cans (of paint, furniture polish, oven cleaner, hair spray, etc.) can be put out with the tins and cans for recycling. There's no particular instruction about the plastic spray nib but logically this would go in with the cardboard and plastic bottle black bin! Unfortunately paint cans and metal objects such as cutlery or pans are not recyclable through the doorstep collection, and neither is foil. There is a container for foil at the Blenheim Road Recycling Station (and at sites in the Woodfield Lane car park at Ashtead and the Tattenham Corner station car park), if those locations are en route.
