Tesco Proposals Unveiled

24 Jul 2009

Tesco Stores Ltd. displayed their proposals last week for a new supermarket, multi-storey car park and homes in Upper High Street.

An exhibition held over three days at the Ebbisham Centre was apparently publicised to all residents living within 1 km of the site, though many complained they knew nothing about it. Broadly speaking the plans at present (no formal planning application has been submitted to the council) are for a large supermarket with a multi-storey car park of around 450 spaces, plus apartments, entirely replacing the present surface car park in Upper High Street.

The exhibition is now closed, but residents can write in with their views to James Wiggam, Tesco House, Delamare Road, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, EN8 9ZB.

A formal planning application is expected in December.
