Weather Bulletin - Wednesday 1st December

Waste and recycling services are suspended until the weather improves. It is as much the difficulties of the refuse vehicles to get around, as it is the problems for residents in putting their bins out and for the operatives to get to bins on "assisted" collections.

Refuse crews usually help with localised gritting services, though all enquiries re gritting are being re-directed to the County Council. The Town Hall car park is being cleared. The borough council is fully-functioning but some staff with longer journeys are being allowed to leave early. It took many people 5+ hours to return home from work yesterday.

The forecast is for light snow today (Wednesday) and more snow tomorrow and the East of the country seems worst affected this time.
