Top ten reasons to vote Liberal Democrat:
Hartlepool barrister Jody Dunn came just over 2,000 votes behind Labour in the Hartlepool by-election, with a 19% swing from Labour to the Lib Dems, pushing the Tories into 4th place behind UKIP.
Earlier this year Cllr Jonathan Lees had originally proposed that the Borough Council should itself take the lead in encouraging the formation of a local group to work towards obtaining "Fairtrade Town" status for Epsom & Ewell. Following the rejection of this idea by the ruling RA Party, more than 40 local people gathered in Christ Church Hall on 19th July to talk about the way forward. Several messages of support were also received from others unable to attend this meeting.
Surrey County Council has increased its share of council tax for 2003-2004 by 17.9%. Cllr. Janet Maines, Lib Dem group leader said: "This Tory-run County Council has got to move away from crisis management, with its ever spiralling costs, by investing in preventative measures that are good value for money and that better meet the needs of Surrey residents".
The Liberal Democrats are committed to rebuilding the trust and compassion that the UK was once known for. We believe that our country has a responsibility to support those in need, no matter where they are in the world.
For too long, years of neglect and mismanagement by the previous Conservative Government have pushed our prison system into a deep crisis.
The Liberal Democrats have long championed proportional representation, advocating for a voting system where every vote truly counts. We believe that reforming our electoral system is crucial for a fairer democracy and better governance.
