Govt adopts Liberal Democrat policy on animal welfare offences
The Liberal Democrats have welcomed Michael Gove's announcement to increase sentences for animal welfare offences to up to five years, a policy taken from the Liberal Democrat manifesto, but warn that he should clamp down on illegal pet imports.

Aldi appeal dismissed
Following a Public Inquiry, the Planning Inspector has supported the Planning Committee's decision and dismissed Aldi's appeal against the Council's refusal of planning permission for a new store on the former Dairy Crest Site.
