Charges for parking permits are set to rise by a mind-numbing 900% early next year, under plans revealed by Surrey County Council. A county council spokesman described the record increase as designed "to make the system fairer."
Local resident Jason Barnett has received an Award as Most Supportive Team Manager at the Surrey Youth Games held earlier this year. Unfortunately, the trophy donated by the Rotary Club of Epsom was not available until recently, so the official presentation was delayed until September 4th.

Tributes have been paid to Sir Cyril Smith, former Lib Dem MP for Rochdale, who died on Friday. Party Leader Nick Clegg said "Cyril Smith was a larger-than-life character and one of the most recognisable and likeable politicians of his day. He was a true Liberal, dedicated to his constituency, always showing great passion and determination. Amidst much heckling from the public gallery, a planning application to allow night working at Epsom Station has been deferred.
